Role Description for unDavos Summit: Slot / Session Owner and Speaker Wrangler

Purpose/Context

The role of Slot / Session Owner and Speaker Wrangler at the unDavos Summit is critical for the successful execution of individual sessions, such as panels. This role involves comprehensive management and coordination of the session, from conceptualization to execution.

Responsibilities

Session Planning:
Develop the event description, including the title and a captivating blurb.
Select speakers for the session and have a backup plan in case of speaker unavailability.
Invite all the speakers to the Telegram group to coordinate the session.
Decide whether to use a ,
Craft a narrative arc for the panel, including conclusive points.
Content Development:
Develop 4-5 significant questions to guide the panel discussion, including one controversial question for dynamic engagement with the speakers.
Communication and Coordination:
Your the contact person for , or related to the session.
Actively answer questions in the session Telegram group for efficient communication.
Collaborate with Mark to address and resolve any issues.
Get access to the and add yourself as host to be able to manage the event.
Accept participants into your luma event by approving their application to participate.
Speaker Management:
Ensure speakers complete their the before Thursday January 11th for the social media team to be able to market the speakers, panel and event at the website and social media marketing.
Ensure all speakers are in the right telegram group
Confirm speakers' attendance and participation in their assigned slots.
Day-of Coordination:
Send reminders to speakers a day before and hours before the session.
Handle any last-minute changes or issues with content team and speakers.

Expected Effort

Pre-Davos: Minimal; mainly involves being added to the Panel session groups.
During Davos: Approximately 1-2 hours. Time-sensitive responsibilities require availability for quick actions when needed.

Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle last-minute changes.
Proficient in using communication tools like Telegram and WhatsApp.

Each slot should have:
Host - the host is actually there for an afternoon or evening to look after everything during that time period - time keeping, switching over sessions, brief intro to next slot owner, and raising any issues with MT or any other core team member if needed
Moderator - make the intros to the specific panel, ask engaging questions, work with audience to get them asking questions, make sure we are on time
Timekeeper - if different to the moderator
Slot owner - person who is responsible for the slot, topic, blurb, and picking the speakers and making sure they arrive on time!
Subject Matter Experts - companies, etc
Investor - to provide an investors view on each topic
