is a multi-payer portal that helps healthcare providers interact with commercial insurance companies. Many major payors, including BCBS, Aetna, and Humana, use Availity as their preferred system for:
Submitting credentialing applications
Checking patient eligibility
Viewing claim status
Accessing remittance advice
Availity not a billing software or an EHR—but it works alongside those tools to make insurance workflows easier.
When You’ll Need an Availity Account
Not every payor uses Availity, and not every provider needs to register. We’ll let you know during onboarding if it’s required for the payors you’re enrolling with. Some examples:
You’re credentialing with BCBS in states like Florida, Texas, or Illinois
You’re enrolling with a commercial payor that requires Availity for access
You’re part of a group or facility billing under a shared TIN/NPI that needs to register the organization
In those cases, creating an Availity account is an essential first step—and we’ll support you through it.
