The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting the response efforts during floods. Some of the roles of the NDMA are:
Assessing the situation and activating the National Disaster Response Plan (NDRP) if necessary.
Mobilizing and deploying the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other resources to the affected areas.
Providing guidance and assistance to the state and district authorities on relief and rehabilitation measures.
Liaising with the central ministries, departments, and agencies for facilitating the provision of essential services and supplies.
Monitoring and reviewing the relief operations and ensuring accountability and transparency.
Conducting post-disaster damage assessment and recovery planning
