How To Use

high-priority

Delete this later

Once you’ve gotten your document set up, delete this page so it doesn’t confuse new employees.

Step 1: Create a document from the template & fill out key info

Go to the Key Info subpage and enter the employees:
Full Name
Role/Title
Manager’s Name
Onboarding Buddy’s Name
Start Date
tear-off-calendar

Start date is important

You need to enter a start date. All task due dates are calculated based on the start date you enter.

Step 2: Fill out the task list under the Full Task List Page

Some basic tasks are pre-populated for you. But you’ll need to add ones that are specific to your department.
calendar-1

Day Column

Enter the day number you expect an employee to complete something. This will automatically generate a due date.
Note:
Day is calculated based on business days.. so if an employee starts Monday, Oct 1 and the day is set to 6.... the due date will automatically ignore any weekends and set the due date for Monday, Oct 8th.

Details Column

Use the Details column to give an employee instructions for how to complete a given task. Example:

Step 3: Fill out the daily and weekly themes, and add manager notes

The first week of the onboarding doc breaks down the first week into 5 days with a theme each day. After that the document is paced weekly. Tasks from the full task list are dynamically brought in to the day or week they’re mapped to based on the day input.

This is not the way.
