Research Report
The report summarizes the results of a series of studies conducted in regard to water resources in Arizona. These include: a realtor survey, a wider resident and business survey, an exercise on story map development feedback, analysis of water-related scenarios, workshop session regarding user scenarios, and user persona development. These efforts in research provide a breadth of information on the perspectives, needs, and challenges expressed by key stakeholders in the Arizona water landscape and, as such, underpin future water management strategies and policy decisions.

Scottsdale Realtor Survey
99 responses from Scottsdale/Phoenix area Realtors who attended the Annual Water Summit at Scottsdale Association of Realtors in May of 2023. The questions were aimed at understanding how much Realtors know/need to know about water issues in support of their business functions and client relations.

We asked Arizonans where they got their information about water, and what questions they have about water. 290 responses from mostly urban dwelling Arizonans.

Storymap Feedback from GSAs at AWII
Gather feedback on the UX of ArcGIS story maps.
The goal of the survey was to identify potential issues and gather recommendations for improving the usability and effectiveness of story maps as a tool for communicating water-related information.

Scenarios Document for AZ Water Blueprint
Our team watched a series of video presentations from Sarah Porter to different audiences. We used these AZ Blueprint demos, and our baseline knowledge of users to come up with scenarios for “why” people are coming to the site. We then coordinated with Sarah, Beshad and Grant to build out more scenarios.

These personas are based on 3+ contextual interviews with each type of user, and subject matter expert feedback. Interviews were coded, details were verified by AI queries and follow up conversations with subject matter experts.
