First Lego League SuperPowered Scoring Calculator

A simple scoring calculator from team #PandaPower
Hi! We’re team #PandaPower robotics. We’ve competed for 6 seasons in First Lego League, and we’ve now created as a resource for helping FLL teams all around the world! (Note: if you don’t much about FLL, here’s a to get oriented.)
Although there are lots of scoring calculators out there, every season, we make our own scoring calculator that matches our way of scoring. It also works better with our route planner, which you can learn more about in our . A few notes
You can use this doc here in “Play mode” or you can make a copy for yourself.
You’ll notice the Missions are colored. The orange Missions are ones where an Energy Unit is retrieved, and the green Missions are the ones where an Energy Unit is delivered
Detailed Instructions: Hopefully it’s self-explanatory, but click here for more instructions:
Once the robot has finished running, move down through the table below and assess the robot’s performance by matching the state of the mission on the board to the options present in the “Scoring Level Selector” column below. Each mission has all the possible ways to score the mission based on the different steps to completion. Some tasks have the mutually exclusive portions separated into different missions in the table below to make scoring easier.
Once you’ve scored all of the missions, the Total Score indicator below will denote the number of points you have solved over all of the missions combined. When you’re ready to score the next round, click the red “Clear All Scores” button below, and run your robot again!
There are two ways to score each mission: let’s say for
:
We can open the drop down menu in the “Scoring Level Selector” column in the table below and select the option that describes our situation: e.g.
@[10] Energy unit completely in green television slot
We can use the incremental score buttons in the table below. If we are unsure if this is the maximum scoring option or an intermediate option, we can press the green “Score 20!” button to score to the first level (
@[10] Energy unit completely in green television slot
), and then push it again to score to the final level (
@[20] Energy unit completely in green television slot and television completely raised
). If we knew from the beginning we get the maximum scoring option for this mission, we can just press the green “Set to Max Option” button.
Note that “Set Max for All Scores” button is not representative of the actual maximum score since there are many tasks that rely on the containers, but not enough containers to fully max out each mission.
We’d love feedback! Email us at , and subscribe to our !
