Message from the Compassion Alumni Broadcasting Movement Head

Dear beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
I extend warm greetings to each one of you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In these uncertain times, I hope this message finds you well and filled with encouragement. Despite the challenges brought forth by the pandemic, I am delighted to witness the resilience and dedication within our Compassion Alumni Movement (CABM) community.
Reflecting on our journey since the onset of the pandemic, it's remarkable to see how CABM has adapted and thrived amidst adversity. Even as face-to-face interactions became limited, our commitment to fostering leadership principles remained unwavering. Through the innovative use of online platforms, we successfully continued our mission, ensuring that the teachings of our Leadership Principles reached every participant of CAM Batch 1.
Now, as circumstances gradually return to normalcy, we are presented with an opportunity to resume face-to-face trainings. However, CABM remains steadfast in its dedication to our ministry. We are excited to announce the launch of our "Sponsor A Child Today" online gatherings, aimed at encouraging Compassion Alumni to support a child in need. The response thus far has been truly heartening, as more individuals are joining hands to make a tangible difference in the lives of children across the Philippines.
At the core of our endeavors lies a deep-seated desire to share the transformative impact of Compassion with the children of the Philippines. Together, as a united Core team, we are committed to breaking the chains of poverty in Jesus' name and ushering in a brighter future for every child under our care.
As we embark on this journey of compassion and service, I pray that God's abundant blessings continue to overflow in your lives. May you remain steadfast in faith, knowing that His grace is ever-present, waiting to be received by those who are open to His divine providence.
With prayers and blessings,
Kuya John Rey

CABM Goals

OBJECTIVES:

To provide comprehensive information to Alumni about current and upcoming CAM events, including the SAC (Sponsor A Child Today), which will be hosted online.

To implement effective strategies to disseminate information through various online platforms, ensuring maximum reach and engagement.

CABM History

The Compassion Alumni Broadcasting Movement (CABM) emerged as a response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. With written consent obtained from Pastor Noel, the Country Director of Compassion International Philippines, and the successful convening in partnership with Ma’am Rose, the Project Facilitator of Negros Cluster 1, and recognizing the need to maintain a sense of community and leadership development among the Compassion Alumni despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic, sought to launch an online platform. Thus, the Compassion Alumni Broadcasting Movement was born.
In the midst of uncertainty and isolation during the pandemic, CABM took a bold step to launch a series of online programs, each focusing on one of the Leadership Principles 6-12. The continuation of the face-to-face program of the Compassion Alumni Leadership Movement. These principles were seen as essential for maintaining and enhancing leadership skills, especially during challenging times. The series commenced with "LP Humbly Listen" on July 31, 2021, followed by "LP Lead with Courage" on August 28, "LP Ignite Your Passion for Ministry" on September 25, "LP Master Communications" on October 30, "LP Equip Staff" on November 27, "LP Strive for Excellence" on January 29, 2022, and "LP Practice Personal Discipline" on February 26, 2022.
These online sessions provided a platform for Compassion Alumni and leadership movement delegates to stay connected, learn, and grow together despite the physical distance imposed by the pandemic. The virtual format allowed participants from various locations to join, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Recognizing the power of social media in disseminating information, CABM continued to utilize the Facebook platform. Regular updates, inspirational messages, and announcements were shared, ensuring that the Compassion Alumni remained informed and connected even outside the scheduled online sessions.
In 2021, a significant development took place within the Compassion Alumni community. Ate Angel initiated and introduced "Sponsor a Child Zoom calls," an initiative officially adopted by CABM in 2023. These Zoom calls provided a more personal and interactive way for Compassion Alumni to connect with and support the children sponsored through the organization. Ate Angel’s passion for the cause inspired others, further strengthening the bonds within the Compassion Alumni community.
In summary, the Compassion Alumni Broadcasting Movement, with the approval of Pastor Noel, played a pivotal role in maintaining the sense of community and leadership development among the Compassion Alumni during the challenging times of the pandemic. Through a series of online programs, Facebook engagement, and the adoption of Sponsor a Child Zoom calls, CABM successfully navigated the virtual landscape, fostering unity and growth within the Compassion Alumni community.
