It’s not enough for most people to understand that others experience reality differently — too often they’re compelled to “help” us see the “right” interpretation of reality, which means we’re constantly being a little bit gaslit by the world.

Being told you lack common sense due to the inability to interpret basic instructions correctly when everyone else can. Saying or doing something that everyone else perceives as illogical, when it makes perfect sense to you.
