This site uses Google Analytics to track how visitors move through its content. The reason I do this is to better understand how people are using this site so that I can make sure I do things like promote the most useful content, and highlight links that people will find useful.
In order to work, Google Analytics uses something called “cookies”. That means that when you visit this website, Google adds a little bit of metadata to your browser in order to track what you’re seeing. This is normal behavior that drives much of the internet’s behavior, and there’s nothing intrinsically nefarious about it, but it’s good to know how the sites you’re visiting are tracking you.
It is this site’s official policy never to resell any gathered user data, and you have my personal guarantee that I’m not up to anything shady here — this is just how the Internet works, and you should know that.
