My upper molars (number -1- on the picture below) never came out; we’re not sure of their orientation, but they never caused a problem — it’s actually nice to not have had to deal with having them removed.
I still have a baby tooth because there never was an adult tooth below it. My mother and mother’s brother had the same; I think my mother’s mother also had it. So it definitely seems genetic. My siblings don’t have it.
It was filled in order to be the same height as the adult tooth. It doesn’t cause me any issues.
This tooth will eventually fall (Around 40-50 years old? It varies.) At which point it should quickly be replaced by an artificial tooth to avoid the whole changing shape.
My tooth were slightly(?) misaligned when I was young, so I had braces.
