I'm open to different types of relationships with the child / family. In the context of a sperm donation, I’m open to anything from no contact ever up to being a family friend, and I’m also open to leaving in some flexibility, such as adapting to the child's desires to some extent. My ideal is generally online contact with a couple annual visits if geographical location allows (ie. being a 'family friend'), but it will depend on how we relate—let's figure this out in advance of course (even if what we figure out has uncertainty, as long as it's specified and agreed to)! Note that I have a 23andMe profile that could allow the child to eventually find me (maybe other technology, such as advance facial detection could eventually also allow for that kind of things)—we can discuss what we would do in that scenario. It’s important for me to respect the established expectations.
