Vector Techniques for Logos

This session is for a big level overview that I wish someone had given me so you can start in the right direction.

What is Vector?

Screen Shot 2022-02-08 at 11.09.47 AM.png
Bitmap: it is comprised of individual pixels within the software which is it becomes pixelated as you zoomed in. Format such as: jpg, png, Gif
Vector: Vector is non-pixelated graphic, no matter how you zoom-in it will stay smooth. The bath between the lines are determined by math. Format such as: ai, eps, svg

So how do you transfer your sketch to Vectro graphic?

You may want to use Photoshop to clean the background and just grab the main object.
Technically you can use the image trace option to automatically vectorize it
Recommended method: file → place → template that way it creates a base for use to be able to sketch on top of the image
Use the pen tool to trace the image:

Refine your object by adjusting the anchor point.
PRO tip tools:
Use a grid when creating your logo to have a geometric proportion
Use the curviture tool to create a smooth curve which better than using the pen tool
Use the width tool to increase or decrease the width of the line through the different anchor point
To create an outline or a shape from a stroke - Object → expand appearance
Use the builder tool to add and subtract of different shapes within a shape
Use the blend tool to create gradients or to fill up the spaces from the beginning object to the end object

Summary:

Logos should be created as vectors
Learn the techniques so that you can express your creativity and deliver high-quality results
