Duplicate non-destructively Create multiple versions of what you already have
Keep playing with it to refine it, and so that you’ll have the version that is perfect for the brief

Symbols - things to check:

Level of details - can you see the symbol for different sizes?
Level of details - s there an alternative design for the different application?
Consistency - are the lines consistence?
Consistency - does it look right optically?
PRO TIP: Pay attention to how each type is created so you can apply the similar principle to your symbol
Balance - not symmetry
Unwanted shapes - watch something you don’t want or unintended shape
Clean geometry - delete unwanted anchor point

Choosing Simple & Classic

Pro:
If you choose simple + classic you’re looking for something reliable and timeless
Con:
However if this could be not distinctive enough

Choosing Distinctive & Unusual

Pro:
Distinctive + unsual you’re choosing something that is timely and unique
Con:
Yet this option could be too much distinctive and becoming out of place.
Be sure to match your visual direction with the rest of your brief and the brand’s personality. Pick the best solution to your problem.

Typesetting and kerning:

You can try different arrangements
Different type forms or type case
Tracking - is the space in between the fonts
Never ever set your type vertically and with a small case
Kerning is when you adjust the space in between letters, use the tool “metrics” or “optical” to do it automatically or do it manually.

Customizing type:

Pay attention to the space between the letters and feel free to customize them
You may also design your own custom set or partner with someone that may be able to do it with you
Keep in mind the design fundamentals so you can create an aesthetically pleasing type
When selecting a type for a combination mark you need to think about the nature of the symbol, and aim to achieve a balance between the symbol and the word mark this could mean you can go for complimenting or contrasting

Technical questions?

Will it be eligible?
Has it been drawn in vector format with clean geometry?
Are the lines sharp and smooth?
Will it work at very small size?
Will it work for our specific applications?
What happens when it is places on a dark / patterned background?
