Our history

Mary’s Lemonade® was birthed from one simple idea: not everyone can make lemonade, but everyone should at least be able to drink some. Our founder, Mary Lemonrose, looked at the world around her and was dismayed to see the lack of lemonade-makers in her local community. People had so many lemons, but no one was making lemonade! That all changed in 1923, when Mary decided that the lemonade-less days of gloom would be no more, and she opened up California’s first not-for-profit lemonade factory. The goal? Provide lemonade and positivity for all who needed it. And just like that, Mary’s Lemonade® was born...
Since then, we’ve provided lemonade to more than 30,000,000 people. That’s a lot of positive vibes passed along.

Our mission

At the end of the day, our goal is to spread positivity by turning as many lemons into lemonade as possible.
