Clear Canvas Column Checkboxes

This technique uses two hidden/unsupported formulas: _MERGE() and _DEREF_OBJECT. However, these formulas are not run until the button is clicked.

, but ran the same problem that Marissa_Griffin had of the resulting text not being editable afterwards (the text would turn into [object Object]. Paul_Danyliuk’s solution also did not work for me because I want to mix checkboxes with other text. I experimented a lot with copying the formula result to text fields versus canvases, and found that the formula result was being treated as a single object—it would appear that I could select checkboxes but they would not stay checked or were not editable. Then I stumbled on

and put the concepts together and the result seems to work.
