This glossary provides definitions of commonly used terms and abbreviations related to FlyJaya’s airline operations and Avantik Passenger Service System (PSS).

🔧 System & Platform Terms

Passenger Service System – Core system for reservations, inventory, and departure control. FlyJaya uses Avantik as its PSS.
GDS
Global Distribution System – Platforms like Sabre, Amadeus, or Travelport that connect airline inventory to travel agents and OTAs.
Avantik
The PSS provider used by FlyJaya for booking, ticketing, check-in, and operational management.
DCS
Departure Control System – Manages check-in, boarding, offloading, and load sheet. Integrated into Avantik.
API
Application Programming Interface – Used by B2B partners to connect external systems to FlyJaya’s booking infrastructure.

🎫 Reservation & Booking Terms

PNR
Passenger Name Record – A unique code containing a passenger’s booking details.
SSR
Special Service Request – Codes used to indicate additional passenger needs (e.g., wheelchair, infant).
OSI
Other Service Information – Free-text messages between agents/airlines to share booking info.
Fare Basis
The alphanumeric code that defines a fare’s conditions (refundability, change rules, etc.).
Segment
A single leg of a journey (e.g., CGK-MDC is one segment).
No-Show
When a passenger fails to check-in or board despite having a valid booking.

Passenger between 2–11 years old. Requires adult accompaniment.
Infant (INF)
Passenger under 2 years, not occupying a seat.
UMNR
Unaccompanied Minor – A child traveling alone, requiring special handling.
Special Meals
Meals requested based on dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, halal, diabetic).

📦 Ancillaries & Add-ons

Boarding Pass
A document authorizing the passenger to board the flight. Generated via DCS.
Offload
The process of removing a booked passenger from the manifest (manually or system-triggered).
Load Sheet
A document summarizing the aircraft’s weight, balance, and passenger count.
Gate Close Time
Time before departure after which boarding is no longer allowed (usually 20–30 mins).
