Wiring Harness Inspection

10 points

Report of Findings

Inspection Report

A detailed inspection of the wiring harness assemblies was performed. Visual examination confirmed that the wiring bundles are clean, well-organized, and free of foreign objects or contamination. No evidence of cuts, cracks, abrasions, or chafing was noted along the length of the harnesses. The insulation remains intact, flexible, and free of brittleness, which indicates that the wire are not subject to excessive thermal stress. There are no indications of overheating, scorching, or melted coverings on any of the wires or terminations.
Connectors were carefully inspected for corrosion, moisture intrusion, broken clips, or displaced seals. All connector back shells are secure and provide adequate strain relief. No bent or loose pins were observed and contact areas appear to be free from contamination or pitting. Bonding and grounding points are properly secured, with fasteners tight and no discoloration noted. All connections appear to be within acceptable standards.
Wire routing and securing are adequate. Bundles are tied at regular intervals with approved lacing materials, preventing excessive movement or vibration wear. The harnesses are routed clear of sharp edges, pinch points, and moving components. Protective sleeving and terminations are present where they are required and show no evidence of damage, missing tape, or degradation. Adequate separation from high-heat sources has been maintained, and airflow in the equipment bay appears unobstructed by the harness installation.
Overall, the condition of the wiring harnesses is consistent with FAA AC 43.13-1B recommendations. The installation demonstrates good workmanship and adherence to standard practices, with no discrepancies requiring corrective maintenance at this time

Summary

The wiring harnesses inspected are in serviceable condition and meet the requirements outlined in the FAA AC 43.13-1B. The inspection did not reveal any cuts, abrasions, heat damage, or connector defects. Harnesses are properly routed, secured and supported in accordance with accepted practices. Based on these findings, the harnesses are approved for continued service.

Recommendation

Routine follow-up inspections during scheduled maintenance intervals are recommended to ensure the ongoing integrity of the wiring and to monitor for potential long term wear or environmental effects.
