Who are Future Folk Sussex?

Future Folk Sussex (FFS) is a Mutual Home Ownership Society Limited and in the pre-development phase. We are a not-for-profit organisation created in response to the ecological crisis our society faces.
We aim to create affordable, sustainable, low impact co-housing communities which practise regenerative land management and to bring previously private residence into collective ownership. This will be achieved using the Mutual Home Ownership Society (MHOS) model. All dwellings will be occupied under a ‘lease’ agreement, instead of individuals owning their own homes, with the MHOS as the freeholder. Residents will pay a monthly charge to the MHOS, a proportion of which will build up their equity share in the society.
Primarily, we aim to create intentional communities (for residents) combined with social enterprises (for the wider community) that are inherently pro-social and pro-environment. By doing so, we will provide a platform for learning about relationships, community-living, permaculture, local ecology and regenerative practices.
