I won’t spend too long on Oyster. Though they’ve raised a lot of investment, they’re the baby brother version of Remote + Deel. So most of what you’ve read there, can be applied to Oyster
Some main differences:
Most expensive of the “big tech” EORs - 2024 pricing is $599 per emp/per month, if paid upfront for year, and $699 is paid monthly monthly Very inflexible with how they operate and customer needs Historic pricing and recent increases very inline with Remote + Deel (though higher) Also expanded into payroll, visa support and “Oyster Shell” a sort of misclassification insurance policy (which you’d wonder why you’d pay for that if they claim to be offering a compliant solution in the first place) Had massive layoffs in 2023 following interest rates increase (2 or 3 rounds), lowering their already poor customer support farther Invoicing and payroll errors common / Deposits not fully refunded FRX: this is only accessible when you have an Oyster account (see screenshot below, and the link mentioned requires you to log in first to see Long drawn out sales process: A prospect I had said it took 3 calls with Oyster to get a quote for 1 employee in Denmark - her exact words “Initial call was an intro, day 2 was reviewing the portal (unnecessary), day 3 is costs. “
