Discussion Items

Mentor onboarding
Mentor Interviewing
Mentors done interviewing with Mentees: Andy, Jason
Mentors in-progress interviewing with Mentees: Tom, Roberto, Matt, Tim (missing interviews with Santiago and Mario)
To-Discuss: Any feedback from mentors on how the interviews are going.
Bandwidth concerns
Mentees picked Tom because of what his skillset is (speaker, mentor, trainer, etc.). Not just about professional title.
TO-DO: Michael to include this as part of the debrief - is this why they picked him?
Any other?
To-Discuss: We identified the need to share with mentors the unique “demand dynamic” we’re in since we’re approaching mentees with a proposition instead of mentees actively seeking out the mentors (as what mentors may be normally used to.
Mentees are “passively interested” at this point (which is okay)
We’re in the “pre-evangelize” stage (Pre-evangelize > Evangelize > Catechize)
Mentee onboarding
Unresponsive mentees:
Santiago - (interviewing stage) lack of response expected since he’s out of the country
Mario - (interviewing stage) unresponsive to text. Not sure if he’s scheduled with mentors.
Geoff - (browsing profiles stage) needs to pick mentors to interview
Joe - (browsing profiles stage) responsive, but just got back from honeymoon. Expecting response next week.
TO-DO: Michael to follow up via text/call/email.
New Mentee Recruiting - to discuss with Fr. Lino
Question: Do we need an “onboarding/introduction” call with Fr. Klein since responsibilities have been passed to him?
TO-DO: Bring up re-group with Fr. Klein call with Fr. Lino
What does the total “world” of RC encounter team young adults look like? Get a headcount and make sure we’re addressing them first.
According to Fr. Martin - there is a national RC conference coming up. Maybe we’ll get an opportunity to speak. Potentially 50-100 guys. In Cincinnati in January.
Existing activities/experiences Fr. John Klein is hosting for RC young men
New Mentee Requests
Question for the group: how do we want to handle mentee requests from outside of GA? (got a request from CO - Inoh’s contact).
"Moment of Truth" Experience Planning
Tom’s spreadsheet here:
TO-DO : Tom will be setting up the group mentor brainstorm/coordination meeting
Guide for 3-Meet Schedule/Meeting Topics
FYI - George, Tom, and Michael have been meeting to create framework and guidance for this phase. We’ll be inviting Mark Thatcher to join a future session since he’s been expressing interest in helping.
Overall framework concepts:
RTI: Rapport and Trust first, then Influence after
First the man, then the saint: We meet the man where they’re at (in the concrete) and then lead them to the person of Christ (more abstract)
Meeting 1: Passions
Meeting 2: Problems/Challenges
Meeting 3: Plan
4. Donor Relations
Donor Update/Add'l Ask Deck
TO-DO: Michael is putting together a straw man story/deck and will work together with George and team to build it out.
5. Non-Critical Path
Apprenticeship Script -
FYI - Michael put together the “script” he’s been using to describe the apprenticeship model to mentees/mentors. As we get this more refined, we’ll update the script to then be used as a tool in recruiting, marketing materials, etc.
Website:
TO-DO: Homepage copy will be reviewed, approved, and taken live over the next couple of weeks.

WIN: the spirit is with us!
Psychology of Atheism book- whole book tested around one argument: “the defective father”. One case after another of a man losing his father and not having him replaced. Conclusion is that if a man doesn’t believe in God, he needs to replace God with another cause (Political, etc). If it’s a woman, it’s with a relationship. Atheism is much more common in men.
