Main Programs and Projects Linked to Innovation Ecosystems
In addition to supporting individual startups, Sebrae develops strategic projects that aim to strengthen Innovation Ecosystems as a whole, articulating the collaboration between companies, government, universities, and investors.
One of the most important programs for connecting academia and the market, Catalisa ICT aims to transform scientific and technological research into high-impact businesses (deep techs).
Focus: To train and support researchers (master's and doctoral graduates, students) to develop entrepreneurial skills and transform their theses, dissertations, and research projects into innovative companies. How it works: The program offers a complete journey that includes training in management and business, mentoring with market experts, and financial support for the development of projects and prototypes. By doing so, Catalisa ICT strengthens the ecosystem by creating a fundamental bridge between the science produced in universities and the demands of the productive sector. The ALI program is a widespread initiative that brings innovation directly into small businesses and stimulates local business environments.
Focus: To promote innovation to increase the productivity and competitiveness of micro and small enterprises throughout Brazil. How it works: Sebrae grant holders (the Agents) provide personalized and free-of-charge support to companies, helping to diagnose problems, identify opportunities, and implement innovative solutions in processes, products, services, and management. The program has a specific track, ALI Ecossistemas, lasting up to 15 months, which seeks to articulate, integrate, and energize local actors (companies, public authorities, universities) to strengthen the territory's innovation ecosystem. This program addresses one of the biggest pain points for startups: access to investment. Capital Empreendedor prepares innovative companies to raise funds and connects them with the investment ecosystem.
Focus: To train startups in the operation and traction stage so they can understand investor logic, structure their investment theses, and prepare for negotiation rounds. How it works: Through a training track with workshops and mentoring from important names in the Venture Capital market, the program culminates in connection events (demodays), where startups present their businesses directly to a panel of potential investors. Sebrae is a strategic partner of InovAtiva Brasil, considered the largest startup acceleration program in Latin America. This is a public policy carried out by the Federal Government in collaboration with Sebrae.
Focus: To accelerate hundreds of innovative businesses from any sector and region of the country, free of charge, by offering training and connections. How it works: The program offers entrepreneurial training courses, individual and group mentoring with executives from large companies and investors, and connection events like InovAtiva Conecta, which promotes business rounds between startups and the market. The partnership with Sebrae enhances the program's reach and widespread impact, strengthening the innovation ecosystem on a national scale.
