✅ The Prototype
Prepare your prototype for testing (inVision, Marvel, Principle, Prototype, etc...). Copy the public share link and test it in different browsers, using wifi & data. ✅ The Test
Design your test: write down tasks, define candidate profiles... Copy, edit & print for note taking or draw one on a paper. carry out the test tasks yourself to see if the prototype covers all required flows. After fixing issues(if any), make sure the link still works. ✅ The Candidates (Automated Process Using Gmail + Google Calendar 👾)
**this process assumes that you connect your Gmail & calendar to Coda
Recruit candidates. Use the to track your process. When a session date is confirmed, push Schedule button to create the event and Hangouts call link. **Tip: it's always good practice to have a couple extra candidates because some people are bound to face some unexpected issue and not make it.
Emailing CalI Info to Candidates.
Connect Google Calendar to Coda. Sync table to view all your events for the next 7 days. The table will filter them automatically to show testing events only. Push Send Call Link button. You can change email format & the email account you want send emails from as you wish.
✅ Recording Logistics
For you to capture the user's screen, your voice & theirs I highly recommend ; an awesome open source project for video recording & live streaming. Windows, Mac & Linux. (🎉 long live Open Source!) add your built-in mic as an audio input source. (how to? ⬇️) add a new display capture. (how to? ⬇️)
Test your setup:
Start recording. Open up your browser, launch a video & talk. Record your display using OBS. in OBS : file → show recordings. Play your video & make sure that you can see the screen, hear the video sounds & your own voice.
