Create new commission rules

Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard

Open your browser and go to your WordPress login page, typically found at yourdomain.com/wp-admin.
Enter your username and password, then click the Log In button.

Step 2: Navigate to the Commission Rules

Access Easy Affiliate Commission Rules:
From your WordPress dashboard, go to the left-hand menu and click on Easy Affiliate > Commission Rules.
This section is where you manage and create specific commission rules for your affiliates.

Step 3: Add a New Commission Rule

Click on Add New Rule:
In the Commission Rules section, click the Add New Rule button. This will open a new form where you can define the details of your rule.

Step 4: Define the Rule Title

Enter a Descriptive Title:
In the first field, enter a descriptive title for the commission rule. This title should reflect the purpose or specific conditions of the rule (e.g., "VIP Affiliate 15%").

Step 5: Set the Rule Priority

Understand and Set Priority:
Priority determines the order in which rules are applied. Rules with a higher priority (lower number) are applied before those with a lower priority (higher number).
If multiple rules could apply to the same affiliate, the rule with the highest priority will be enforced. For example, if you have a general rule and a specific rule for top performers, you might give the top performer rule a higher priority (e.g., priority 1).
Enter a priority number for this rule, with 1 being the highest priority.

Step 6: Define Matches

Explain How Matches Work:
Matches determine which affiliates the rule will apply to. You can define conditions that must be met for this rule to be triggered.
Common matching criteria include the affiliate’s username, email, or specific product purchases.
Add Matching Conditions:
To define a match, click on Add New Matching Rule.
You will need to complete four fields:
Type: Select Affiliate to specify which affiliates this rule applies to.
Condition: Choose the condition by which to match the affiliate (e.g., Username).
Operator: Select the operator (e.g., is to exactly match the username).
Value: Enter the specific value that meets the condition (e.g., the affiliate’s username).
You can add multiple matching rules to refine who the commission rule applies to. For example, you could match specific affiliates by username or email, or target all affiliates with certain product purchases.

Step 7: Define Commission Rates

Set the Commission Rates:
In the Commission Rates section, define the rates that affiliates will earn under this rule.
Base Rate (Commission): This is the primary commission rate that affiliates will earn on sales under this rule (e.g., 15%). It can be based on a percentage of a fixed amount.
If necessary it is possible to add commission levels for multi-level marketing, sometimes referred to as network or pyramid marketing. In this case, Level 1 corresponds to the affiliate making a sale, the remaining levels correspond to the commission earned by direct referrals, second level referal, etc.
These rates will override the global default rates for affiliates that match the conditions set in the rule.

Step 8: Save the Commission Rule

Save and Activate the Rule:
Once all the fields are completed and you’ve reviewed the settings, click Save Rule to activate the commission rule.
The new rule will now be listed in the Commission Rules section and will apply according to the priority and matching conditions you’ve set.
