These are some of the cooking projects I’ve done. I often cook steak for me and my family for dinner, but sometimes I’ll take on bigger projects, like these.
Me gusta explorar les platos de país que habla español.
Dulce de leche filled cookies I made. (The dulce de leche has a weird taste on its own but combined with the cookies it was amazing). Dulce de leche is made by gradually heating up sweetened condensed milk. Alfajores, these cookies, are traditional shortbread cookies that are popular in Argentina.
Pork spare ribs with chimichurri sauce that I made. (I had to cook them in the oven for 4 hours but it was worth it) Chimichurri sauce comes from Argentina and is often referred to as Argentinian barbecue sauce. This is green chimichurri sauce, but it also comes in red sometimes.
The birthday cake that I made for my mom. She’s on a pretty strict diet right now (keto) so it was kind of hard to find a recipe that worked for her.
The monstrosity of a cake that I made with my little brother. It was a blue velvet cake with lemon frosting and one half fondant one half marshmallow on the top. (The marshmallow was my half) It took an entire day to make but he was very proud of it, as he’d never made something this big before. Before this, he never really cooked and didn’t like to be part of big activities (he’s autistic so this is something we’ve learned to deal with). I’m really proud of him for making this with me, even though it was revolting.
Keto Cuban pot roast that I made for my family’s dinner. I wasn’t a fan of the flavours or the meat, however they seemed to really enjoy it. The recipe is inspired by Ropa Vieja, which is the national dish of Cuba.
