Malikhu village (Zomba)

Background info

In Zomba there has been flooding due to the Phalombe River. One of the most heartbreaking stories from this is Joyce Chapola losing her son after one of the floods. He was just 3 years old when due to the flooding he got malaria. Through all this loss Joyce still had nowhere to go but a makeshift camp leaving her with nothing left. There are many stories of the same losses. There is evidence that these floods are due to deforestation causing human rights violations.
