Background info

The Kirazlı Gold Mine Project in Mount Ida famous in Çanakkale, is the controversial construction of a gold mine near the village of Kirazlı. It will have a devastating impact on the environment, contaminating local fresh water supplies. Images circling on social media raised the attention of many and sparked the beginning of a long resistance against Alamos Gold Inc (the company leading the project) which is still continuing up to this date.
