what am i?
Jose was a hidden citizen for more than 15 years because he was terrified of what people or the government would do if they found out, he stayed and payed taxes and worked a normal job but he thought that wouldn't save him in any other case. He thought of the long haul and how he would create a family if he still isn't even accepted in a country where he might be kicked out of.
He didn't know where he stood in america because he thought of it as a black and white country an the other percent of people where just left out so he wasn't really sure how that would effect his schooling
Jose never even realized he was of Asian descent until people noticed he looked different and categorized him as other races or tried to guess what he could be. This made him realize that he did have a spot here but he wasn't sure what he wanted to be and what was good or bad.
