Nyugati Train Station, Budapest
We ask that you meet the team (7 volunteers + 1 local camp leader) at the main entrance in front of the tracks around 5:30 pm. Trains to Csörög depart almost every hour, but we kindly ask that you take the 18:00 train at the latest.
It takes around 1 hour by bus and metro from the airport to the train station, plus 1,5 hours to Csörög. The team will have to arrive by 7:30 pm. From the train station in Csörög, we will walk to the after-school location.

Pest County Monthly Pass
We recommend purchasing a Pest County Monthly Pass for the program. It costs 9,450 HUF (~€25) and allows unlimited travel to and from Csörög, as well as on all public transportation within Budapest. You can buy the tickets on the spot in the ticket office with cash or bank card, or you can even buy them in advance online ( or download the app on or ). 🛤️ Travel Plan: From Budapest Airport (Ferihegy) to Nyugati Train Station
In order to plan your trips, check schedules, buy tickets, and use Budapest’s public transport easily, you are advised to download the . Google Maps is also a good alternative for finding the best routes between points. How to get to Nyugati Train Station from Budapest Airport (45 min.):
Buy one single-use bus ticket, it costs 450 HUF (~€1.20) a. At the ticket machine right in front of the exit or
b. Use the BudapestGO mobile application.
Take bus 100E just in front of the exit gate. Don’t forget to validate your ticket on the bus. Get off at the stop called “Deák Ferenc tér”. Take M3 (blue) metro from Deák square (Deák tér) to Nyugati train station (Nyugati Pályaudvar). For the metro, you can buy a single ticket for 450 HUF (~€1.20), once again from the ticket machine or via the app. Don’t forget to validate it before you get on the metro! 🙂 Once you arrive at the train station, you can buy your train ticket at the yellow ticket machines displayed near the main entrance of the station, or online through .
Travel from Budapest to Csörög
From Nyugati Train Station, we recommend taking the S71 Passenger Train to Csörög
Suggested departure: 18:00 (6:00 pm), 2nd August 2026. This direct train will take you to Csörög in approximately 1 hour. You can buy your ticket online in advance with seat reservation here:
