What will you have to do as a volunteer?

In this project, you will have the opportunity to organize summer camps for marginalized children aged 3 to 18 together with the staff of Just-is Foundation. As a volunteer, you’ll be an integral part of the NGO’s mission to empower these children by providing them with valuable experiences to make a difference in their lives.
Immerse yourself in a week of fun, learning, and connection, as you will teach these children about yourself, your culture, and the English language. But that’s not all! As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead engaging games and sports,
Share the beauty of music with the children,
Do creative arts and craft activities.
Your role will go beyond teaching skills; you’ll foster a sense of joy, trust, empathy, and respect, address a wide range of psychosocial needs, and build essential life skills. Join us in creating a brighter future for these children, one filled with laughter, learning, and limitless possibilities!

How to start?

Check how your days will go in this summer camp! 🏕️

After Sunday’s arrival (you may explore Budapest the weekend before), we kick off the week with a day to review the activities and the logistics of the camp, ensuring everything is set for an amazing experience.
From Monday to Friday, we will organize and take part in 1-1.5 hours of activities with each age group, creating lasting memories along the way.
On Friday, there will be an event for the families in Bódvalenke. The children can share their learning (e.g., by presenting the songs or dances they learned from you), and there will be an evening of reflection and closure to celebrate the impact on the children’s lives.
On Saturday, everyone will begin their journey back home.
Join our preparation call to meet your fellow volunteers, get important information about the project, and ask any questions you may have before traveling.
📅 First preparation callDate: 22 June 2026 Time: 7:00 PM CET (Budapest time) Zoom link: Meeting ID: 850 3372 1601 Passcode: Bl1234

What else will happen?

There will be feeling meetings and reflection groups during the program to support your emotional well-being and learning.
