🏖️ Bánk

Bánk is a tiny village in Nógrád County with its not-so-tiny Lake of Bánk in the middle. It has everything a tiny village built around a lake could need: a small store, a tobacco shop, a pizza place, a pub, some hotels, motels and a lakeshore eatery. Plus, the extremely friendly locals. Bánkitó Festival has been in town for 12 years, mostly around the Lakeshore and the Camp, though throughout the years, we ventured out to settle around the Reeds and the Meadow. Besides the lake, the small wooden cabins and the venues hiding around small clearings throughout the enclosing forest make Bánkitó, the festival it is.

🏘️ ACCOMMODATION

You will live in tents during the festival and you are asked to bring your own tent and sleeping bag. If you don’t have your own tent or it’s not possible for you to bring one don’t worry, we can provide some :) Please be prepared that the temperature could drop during the evening and it can be pretty cold, so make sure to bring warm and waterproof clothes too.

Other than that the whole festival is off-grid so you can fully enjoy the experience the event gives without interruption from your phone. 🤗

🍲 MEALS AND DRINKS

We provide 2 meals/day for you lunch and dinner (hot meals for lunch). A vegetarian option is available as well. Other than that there are small shops in the village, restaurants, pubs and other types of stores where you can buy things that you feel are necessary for your comfortable stay. In case of allergies and diets, please inform us ahead, so we can make sure that your needs are taken care of.

If your diet is special/extreme, we suggest you bring some food with you to complement the provided food. In this case, you can avoid possible glitches or shortages for unexpected dietary needs.

We kindly ask you for responsible alcohol consumption outside of service hours. Moreover, the festival has strict rules about drug and alcohol consumption, it is prohibited to bring these to the festival’s territory. In Hungary it is also prohibited to consume drugs or have some in your possession. The same rules apply to our workcamps. Please respect these rules otherwise, we will have to ask you to leave the project immediately. The organisers of the festival also ask the guests to bring their own cups and glasses for the drinks provided during the festival, this way protecting the environment from the unnecessary waste that usually piles up during festivals by empty plastic cups and bottles.
