Smile On Me

In 2017, I founded and led a nonprofit organization called Smile On Me and ran it for seven years. It was truly the most extraordinary season of my life. I could fill a book with the incredible experiences and impact I’ve had during this time (and maybe someday I will). But for now, here’s one standout project that made a lasting impression.
Smile On Me was a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing girls for puberty while providing a space where they could be their authentic self and explore new opportunities. Our mission was to create safe environments that support mental health, build confidence, and strengthen participants' social, emotional, and technical skills. Over the years, we have distributed over 10,000 hygiene products to girls in under-resourced communities, ensuring they have the essentials to navigate puberty with confidence and dignity.
In 2021, recognizing that many girls in our program had never experienced an overnight camp, I launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring a girls’ summer camp to life—creating a space for adventure, growth, and lasting memories. With everyone’s support, we raised over $50,000 to bring this camp to life. It was the most successful crowdfunding campaign I ran during my time at Smile On Me, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of!

Our camp was called Daybreak. Here’s the branding created for the camp, designed by the incredibly talented,

Volunteer Work

Sisterhood Dinner—Fall Foreword
I had the privilege of bringing together a group of incredible women from my church’s women’s group, Sisterhood, to host a truly special event that I co-created with my good friend Sara.
We decide to come together and host this event as a way to kick off the season, celebrating the incredible women in our community. The name Fall Foreword symbolized not just the changing of the seasons but also stepping forward into new beginnings, embracing growth, and honoring what makes each of us unique.
Fun things I got to do to bring it to life:
Designed personalized superlative certificates for each guest
Hired a caterer to provide delicious food for the event
Organized fall-themed décor, including balloons and banners
Coordinated the venue, hosting the event in a cozy Brooklyn apartment
Created an intimate and welcoming atmosphere for connection and celebration
Facilitated fun activities and uplifting conversations to foster support and empowerment among attendees
Fall Foreword wasn’t just about marking the start of the season, it was a reminder of the importance of celebrating each other. By honoring the strengths and individuality of the women in the group, we created a space of encouragement, empowerment, and community as we moved forward into the new season with confidence.
Women in Business
In a land of possibility, there was a group of incredible women from all walks of life—corporate professionals, creatives, part-time workers, full-time employees, working moms, and stay-at-home moms—who came together with a shared dream: to empower one another and create a supportive community. I was lucky enough to be a part of this group, and together, we began organizing events to inspire women to step into their power, pursue their passions, and start something for themselves.
Here’s what I got to do:
Organized events in WeWork spaces and curated themes that resonated with our audience
Managed social media posts, email campaigns, and event promotions
Led panels and talks, sharing my entrepreneurial journey
Encouraged women to connect, share their stories, and network with each other
Each event was a celebration, filled with great food, fun activities, and powerful conversations. We created a space where women could not only learn but also find the courage to take bold steps toward their dreams. And through it all, the community we built became more than just an event, it became a movement of women supporting women.
