More maps (graphs) like the 4 types of imperatives with more examples listed in them build into a booklet/workbook “making the invisible, visible” “externalized costs rarely make it to accounting sheets” Level of Help & Appreciation but people are scared of making someone seem like they don’t appreciate them as much as others, so won’t likely wont to score them, so maybe use emojis with level of happiness Likes can be in a certain category Supply Chain Current-sees Section 3
How did the inherent tension within the two driving forces of governance help you think about the dynamics you want to set up in managing your currency? (Preserve integrity of what works vs. move toward goals / away from threats)
Where do you observe unintended downward spirals in projects? Even / especially ones with good intentions? Examples? Stories?
Where do you see you can use some of the leverage points for shifting balances toward upward spirals in your projects? Specific designs you’ll use?
Deep Wealth: Are you making the deeper wealth that you really care about in your project/community visible? What are the gaps in nourishing the deeper dynamics that underpin the more tangible and tradable flows?
How does the Evolution of Economies context empower your work? What kind of new social change dynamics does it make possible for you or your work?
How are you preparing for the big Capacity Shift into greater fluency with non-monetary currencies powering the next networked economy?

H.E.D.G.E. (Hours Exchanging Distributes Generosity Effectively) 1 HEDGE = 1 hour of community service. Not all hours are of equal value ? Could you have people choose their exchange rate? - individually No trading between HEDGE and USD. tradeable for other time and potentially in goods Everyone will have a certain amount of HEDGE withdrawn from their account every month, or year, to represent their expected amount of community service, which will be given to our committees to pay to get committee work done in the community. People who drop below a certain negative balance will no longer be able to spend HEDGE, but they will still be able to accept HEDGE. When people fall below the specified level, we will use this as an early warning sign of community disengagement to reach out to the people involved to try and help them re-engage (or get support if they need support). There will be no penalties or punishments for people who drop below the specified level, beyond freezing their ability to spend HEDGE. The community will create HEDGE grants to subsidize things we feel are important for the community. Likely candidates include: funding a CSA gardening effort, providing assistance to people of lower economic means, rewards for engaging positively with our visitors and other program participants, rewards for longer term levels of community contribution, retirement funding for exceptional longer term levels of community contribution, and many other ideas that I'm sure will come over time. Demurrage will be enacted on positive accounts as a way of taking HEDGE out of circulation if the grants end up resulting in devaluation of the HEDGE through inflation. Exact implementation will depend on technical capabilities. Ideally only people hoarding currency will be demurraged. Multiple-currencies needed for communities causes people upset to be ranked But my initial response was, to measure results, projects completed, not hours. re: Oxana's point: I think hours need to be associated with outputs/milestones/ measurables whenever clearly applicable “Hours World” is the closest thing “Community Exchange System” Solution: Different types of “pies” Don’t have a way to inject value See “South Oregon Time Banks” failures Lost higher education people See “Earth Haven” Leep system no way to take money out of circulation non-exchangeable to fiat / US Dollars bring in new people - for work exchange no desire to manage that labor so currently end up paying for professional labor Reinvigorate our committee systems so we get more committee work done in the community. Increase clarity of community service expectations. Create a vibrant local food economy. Create a vibrant internship program that brings us awesome new residents in the community. Increase friendliness towards program participants. Reward long term contributors in the community. Provide a hedge against inflation in some of our community fees by moving some types of community labor from being compensated in USD to being compensated in HEDGE.

Needs scaling through app for it to make sense with friends/deeper-connections So a person mowing a yard could do multiple which are being requested and logged Then a person repaying them in pies could be making extra for others in the community So coordinating the making/doing so that maybe others can volunteer to join in the effort and bring their own ingredients So, scaling and involving others feels like a major key “least amount of get mine to grow the most amount of grow ours” Typo
