WriterDuet’s nature as an industry-standard scriptwriting app provides some broader advantages: line-based formatting (think Styles in Word) in particular, and a packet-based workflow (since the title page is a different template from the script itself). As a small, tech-forward team, we leveraged these qualities in a partnership with a ghostwriting agency.
We built a book-writing template with many Styles, and ensured that the book would export to a special CXML format for them to port it directly to their publishing software. We introduced variable-width fonts, images, and substantial performance improvements.
We created WriterDuet Studio, which provides a client with a custom instance of the software at a custom domain. They can integrate all of their own branding into the application, design and manage custom workflows, and control the user access list with custom roles. All of this is accessible from an administrator dashboard.
Since this project, we have created Studios for a number of other clients in variable spaces and turned b2b into a substantial part of our bottom line.
