How to get started

1. Define your AI’s role or task. Some AI roles are:
AI Conversation Partner: Appears as a chat partner in an interface.
AI Data Analyst: Synthesizes results and creates reports.
AI Survey Assistant: Helps set up and analyze surveys.
AI Customer Service Aid: Drafts responses or communicates on behalf of a brand.
AI Video Analyst: Analyzes or summarizes video transcripts.
AI Interactive Guide: Guides users through features, processes, configuration steps, etc.
AI at HR Admin or Organizational Psychologist: May aid users in analyzing their data and give them advice on how to improve.
2. Define the AI’s inputs and outputs. Some inputs are survey data or VoC data. Some outputs are summaries, insights, or recommendations.
3. Define your user persona and their jobs-to-be-done. Use persona research and user journey maps. Understand their mental models, hopes and fears.
4. Define the UI. The UI is the delivery mechanism for the AI-generated content. Consider parameters like text length, along with the user’s mental model Choose a UI that best fits with the user’s journey through the product.
5. Based on what you’ve learned from steps 1-4, define the content parameters. Parameters can include things like text length, tone and response structures. Response structure can be summaries, insights, headlines, bullets, or something else.
Example parameters:
Tone: Neutral
Length: Less than 300 characters
Response structure: Summary
