What Won't Transfer (Limitations)

Not everything from Rows can be automatically migrated to Coda. This page outlines the known limitations so you can plan accordingly.

Known Limitations

Live data connections will not transfer Integrations with external services (Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) are not preserved when you export from Rows. You will need to reconnect these using Coda Packs.

Python scripts and Python-based charts Coda does not support Python. If you used Python in Rows for data analysis or custom charts, consider using Coda AI for analysis, Coda’s built-in chart views for visualization, or connecting external Python scripts via the Coda API.

RowsX browser extension There is no Coda equivalent for web scraping. Use external scraping tools and import the data, or explore the OpenAI Pack for some content extraction tasks.

Rows-specific integration functions Functions like GET_PAGE_METRICS_LINKEDIN or SEARCH_COMPANIES are proprietary to Rows and will not work in Coda. Equivalent data can be obtained through Coda Packs or Sync Tables.

Conditional formatting rules Conditional formatting rules from Rows will not carry over in exports. You will need to manually recreate them using Coda’s conditional formatting feature on columns.

Merged cells Coda tables do not support merged cells. If your Rows spreadsheets rely on merged cells for layout, consider using Coda’s canvas content (headings, sections, callouts) for visual structure instead.

Advanced Pivot Table features Coda does not have a direct Pivot Table equivalent. Use Coda’s table grouping, summary rows, and formula columns to achieve similar data aggregation and analysis.

AI Analyst prompts and history Your Rows AI Analyst conversation history and saved prompts will not transfer. Coda AI is a separate system with its own chat, assistant, and column features.

Rows Vision (PDF/image extraction) There is no direct Coda equivalent for extracting structured data from PDFs and images. Consider using the OpenAI Pack for image analysis or external OCR tools.

Automation schedules (SCHEDULE/REFRESH/REPEAT) Rows automation functions will not transfer. You will need to recreate your automated workflows using Coda Automations, which offer a visual builder, multi-step actions, and Pack integrations.

Formulas must be rewritten Coda uses its own Formula Language. While most concepts translate (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP equivalents exist), the syntax is different. See the Formula Translation Guide page for a side-by-side reference.

Embedding configurations Any Rows embeds on external websites will stop working after May 31, 2026. Recreate them using Coda’s embed or publish features.
