Before the Event
Preparing your presentation: You will receive slides to start and end your session. Please include them in your presentation. These slides will help us communicate details around the conference and maintain consistency. Confirm Tech Requirements: If you need something not stated in your original entry, let the organizers know. We are here to help. Bring Your Laptop: Each speaker is expected to bring their own laptop for the presentation. Attend Rehearsals: Join any scheduled practice sessions or tech checks if it is needed. During the Event
Be On Time: Arrive at the venue at least one hour before your session as scheduled. You do not need to buy a ticket for the conference in Calgary, but we need to check you in and give you your speaker badge. Stick to Time Limits: To maintain a smooth and respectful program, ensure your presentation stays within the allotted time. Test Equipment: Use the break before your talk to test your laptop and any connections. Rooms have large monitors, speakers, a podium, and HDMI connections (bring a power adapter if needed). Engage in Q&A: Be prepared to answer audience questions if applicable. For short talks (25 minutes), we will have a speaker lounge, a safe and friendly environment to engage with your audience and other speakers, before and after your participation. Build trust and be kind: Maintain an inclusive, friendly and engaging tone throughout your session. After the Event
Follow-Up: Be available for any post-event discussions, feedback, or networking opportunities. Thank you again, and looking forward to having you at the UX Camp in Calgary!
