Our speaker, Andrew Turnbull, will take a light-hearted look at some of the worst offenders in design, from Netflix’s autoplay to Sonos’ app redesign.

He’ll explore how these user-hostile decisions happen and discuss how UX designers can increase their influence to bring user-centered design back into focus.

Andrew is the Managing Director of UX and Product at Evans Hunt, with 15 years of experience working with clients like Alterra Mountain Company, Pursuit, and ATB Financial.

In this session, Shuchi Sinha Saxena, Senior UX Architect at the City of Calgary, will share her experience building and governing the City’s Design System.

She’ll discuss how a well-structured system can bridge design and development, accelerate workflows, and drive cohesive user experiences.

With 13+ years of experience in design, Shuchi has worked on major projects like Green Line and Scotia Place.
