The following is a list of potential costs associated with this project:

Land

Rent cost for access to a location to do the Jhatka. In time, could purchase our own plot.

Chatange

Costs associated with purchasing chantange to Jhatka. In future can raise on on our own land.

Jhatkaee

Services of a jhatkaee can be done voluntarily by members participating to begin with. Later on, could pay for fulltime workers.

Shastar

Includes upkeep (sharpening stones, cleaning), storage of them etc. However, cost can be mitigated by using Shastar members volunteer to lend for it. Rifles: Seek permission to shoot on private land. You can already shoot air rifle to kill, and can apparently shoot 22LR as well after police inspection.

Storage

Will mostly be taken away and stored by members themselves. As we scale we can invest in deep freezers as needed. If awkward at home, then perhaps a rent system where members can rent freezer space of each other.

Transport

Hire a van? Possible to transport in cars, but gets very dirty and also limits number of jhatange.

Income

Ways to help cover the above costs:

Option A

Make a list in advance of attendees per session.

Tell everyone in network the total cost.

Get people to sign their name, more that sign up the cost per person might go down (for land hire at least, may need more chickens — maybe create a calculation of chatanga per person (0.5?)).

Simply split the costs.

If someone wants more, then they can pay for themselves the extra.

Additional Income

Dasvandh

The JN will be part of a wider narrative push to promote Khalsa Marayada and revitalise our traditions (Khalsa Revival Goal). As a result there will be auxiliary efforts to promote this aspect of Khalsa Matt and so as part of that, the JN will be promoted as something people convinced of our arguments can support and participate in.

One way they can support is by donating Dasvandh to support our efforts to grow this network.

I think we should register the JN as a charity (after we get it going and have committed to a few Jhatkas), so that we can apply for Gift Aid (tax exempt donations).

Can use the fact we are a legal entity as a platform to lobby for our right to Jhatka goats and other animals also (

Distribution

Sangat can purchase excess maas.
