Visitor traffic to the website rebounded in the 2nd quarter of this year, increasing by 82% from the previous quarter, while visitor sessions increased by 54%.

Interestingly if we look at Google Analytics 4 - which is the new version of Google Analytics (that will be in use moving forward) it shows user numbers that are 33% lower. (than UA). This is because GA4 is only counting active users (people whose sessions triggered more than one event or pageview) whereas the UA version of Google Analytics references all users (anyone who visits the site for more than 0 seconds).
GA4 is showing 1.8k users compared to 2.7k shown in UA (Universal Analytics) - which is being phased out. This will be something to bear in mind as we move to GA4 based reports from the 3rd quarter on. In other words - we won’t directly compare user numbers from UA to GA4 (moving forward). But we’ll have historical data in GA4 - as we’ve been using it since the start of this year alongside UA - so we’ll still be able to do comparisons with that data.

Another thing to note is that there was a big spike in traffic during April. I suspect this is due in part to all the testing that Calliope Interpreters were doing and possibly due to the announcement on social media that there was a new site. Though this announcement took place on the 19th of April - which is in the 3rd quartile of the month (marked on the graph in the screenshot below with a blue dot).
This screenshot below shows the full first 6 months of the year - which makes it more clear that there was a big increase in traffic in April, while overall - the traffic volume is up since the launch of the new site.
