Feedback

Hola Attendees!
We’d love to hear what you thought of the retreat!
Specifically, what you thought of the planning, execution, and experience of this event. To gather feedback we’re using the following systems.
A layered approach
The Four L’s
A combination of these will provide a depth and visual ease that isn’t easily captured in standard survey forms. Please read below:

Step 1: Think About Your “Four “L” Categories”:

LOVED: What you loved about the retreat.
This is what you want the team to keep doing, or do more of, in the future.
LEARNED: Something that surprised you, or that you learned.
New skills or your teammates habits :)
Got an insight about the team — or a person?
Had a cultural or travel learning?
LONGED FOR: Something you missed, or would have liked to see/do
It could be more people, more time, more coffee. Nothing is off the table.
LACKED: What made things complicated or uncomfortable.
What do you hope will never happen again?

Step 2: Consider Providing Two Layers to Your Feedback.

We’d love for you to do both as it gives us much richer data to work with. However you proceed, we are grateful for your input.

Speedboats (EXAMPLE)
The best activity!
5
Incredible Views
The views from the property were stunning, and calmed my mind every day
12
Planned activities were great
Both type of activities were great like the group ones like the speedboats, and particularly interesting were the team building ones like the old-town tour and hiking, as they created a lot of space to exchange in-depth with team members and get to know each others better.
6
Half-board was reassuring
We ate too much, but the buffet was also a great place to meet others. It was reassuring to know we didn’t have to worry about at least two meals per day, less stressful that way.
7
Proximity to water along with amazing views
Having a body of water that was clean and swimmable nearby was great. Also the views were breathtaking, it was amazingly relaxing.
8
Concierge like experience
Having the OnSiteHub team always ready to assist was an amazing feeling. And organizing activities for the kids on a daily basis with a kind and dedicated team was definitely the cherry on top of the cake.
10
Whatsapp groups
Having WhatsApp groups properly compatmentalized was really great and insured we did not miss anything. Also the combination with Coda was also just right.
10
The company :)
I absolutely loved being constantly surrounded by new people… Having bond and connections with others without even knowing them made this retreat very enjoyable!
11
Astounding Views
Wherever you are, the views are terrific. I love how close the mountains are to the sea. It's something that can't be captured by a camera. Only your eyes and your memories can capture it.
7
The weather
It’s a dream. It's a bit chilly in the morning, but then it warms up during the day. It's absolutely perfect!
6
The diversity of cultures
It's really cool to be conscious of the different facets of how we live. We are just too diverse in our culture, and our team is also diverse, which is really cool. Knowing how life is in another country allows us to appreciate our own culture and be proactive in adopting some aspects of another culture into our lives.
8
The opportunity
We need to be kind with the opportunity that was given to us. I was so happy to be part of this experience.
6
The architecture of the city
I love the harmony of the architecture. The city has its own identity with the terracotta colors. It is mixed perfectly with the mountains and the sea.
2
The team
I always felt super comfortable with all my colleagues and their families, which was awesome because they were always ready to lend a hand and boost my confidence.
8
Onsite Hub onsite
Honestly, they were amazing. They were so helpful and went above and beyond in emergencies. Huge kudos to Milana and Iva
6
Opportunity for the team to be all together
I loved this opportunity even though I was not able to attend for personal reasons.
4
Team Communication
I truly cherished the bond within our team and how we came together like a family. I'm already missing those moments.
7
Location!
I loved the Kotor location. Sea, mountains, views, history, but the hotel was also close to restaurants, shops, activities etc. Personally, I found it really enjoyable to be able to go beyond the hotel with ease, a downside of the Bali location on the previous retreat.
7
Been accompanied by family
I loved the fact that our families could be with us during the retreat.
7
Met everyone
Got to meet everyone. There was no rush or pressure, so I could spend time and talk to all peers learn about them and the way they work. The intent of the retreat was accomplished many folds.
7
Vegan proteins
I always got what I needed by asking. But 3-4 times during the buffet I needed to check with the chef is he could make me some. I’m comfortable asking to get my needs met, but each meal should have some vegan proteins in case of vegans.
4
Opportunity to Vote
I like that we have the freedom to choose between different location options
3
Building genuine connections
I loved getting to know people I had only met online and realizing they are real people. Spending time with them and sharing laughs has made me feel more confident and familiar when speaking with them now.
3
Dream location
Kotor is a beautiful place, so far from where I live that I never thought I'd visit. With its nice weather, stunning views, and great activities, it was truly a dream retreat.
3
Opportunity
I enjoyed the opportunity to process applications for travel to a distant country. It was my first time, and I hope to attend the next retreat.
3
Proactive Onsite Team
Onsite Team was amazing and proactive in resolving any problem I shared with them with 100% satisfaction. Which means a lot to me!
2
Wholesome Retreat
I had certain expectation before the retreat and almost all of them were completed and hence I felt really wholesome after it, as there were fun, collaboration, adventure, culture, kids, family comfort and happiness, long interations, bonding with fellow convertors and list goes on. Really want to relive certain moments again!
Activities
The speedboat trip was great as well as the submarine trip, especially for the kids. I would have loved to do more activities but was of course there for less days. For anybody not being able to stay the full length of the trip perhaps a few more group activities early on during the retreat.
2
Food sharing evening
Both the preparation and the food the evening together was a lot of fun. The best food for sure of the whole retreat. : ) (the Turkish restaurant was also good). It was more casual and fun.
4
Views and Scenery
Of course we did some research prior but the scenery in Montenegro is really amazing. Impressive mountains and beautiful setting by the water.
2
Hotel
The hotel itself and its setting is beautiful. The service and food has a lot of room for improvement (will add a separate task for this).
Converters
Everyone holds special qualities, and are good people.
3
Harmony Among Retreat Attendees
I really liked the harmony among all the attendees at the retreat.
1
Amazing multi cultural group
It was amazing to see how easily everybody mingled in and got to know each other face to face. Of course some already knew each other for some time but for most it was a first. The less formal moments were the best. The food prepare evenings, the activities, the breakfast the casual not planned conversations. It felt like most of us had known each other for a long time already.
Workflow (EXAMPLE)
Need to make bigger breaks between work sessions
1
Acquired better Project management skills
The sessions by Morgan about PM were super useful and the information bandwith was far greater than anything remote. I learned a lot from them. Hence team sessions are really something great to have more of.
5
Always go through the Organizers to pressure the hotel
We tried pressuring the hotel ourselves to clean and fix the hot water, but they did not listen, and we were too busy to insist. Towards the end I realized all too late that we should have pressured the organizers instead and involved them.
3
Visa Application
Applications best made at the earliest, like 3 months at least, leaving enough room to appeal in case rejected. Having U.S. visa and/or Schengen in general seems to improve the chances of acceptance.
10
Not everybody is as perfectionist as can be !
Being a perfectionist, I tend to think the same about people but this retreat has proven me how wrong I was… especially when it comes to spending a huge amount of money, one needs to think twice before committing and personal inspection of the hotel was needed !
1
Good practices to organize your live
There were good sessions to learn how to organize our personal and professional time. I will try to add some of the tips that I learned in my life.
2
Culture of different countries
Through the food, drinks, and experiences, I was able to understand what life is like in Pakistan, Argentina, Romania, and so on.
10
How to build a custom GPT
Incredibly insightful session. Thanks, Karim!
10
Visa issues
Not all people around the world can travel easily due to visa restrictions
8
Exploring Diverse Cultures
I learned about various cultures and their ways of living in different countries. It was fascinating to also gain insight into their unique ways of thinking.
5
Expectations and Improvements required.
As I got to talk to all fellow mates, I learned how my work impacts their work and what else is expected out of me. I also understood my own limitations. How I could contribute more to make my teammates lives easier.
4
Scenic Location
The retreat in Kotor, Montenegro, was set in a beautiful and inspiring environment. I loved the weather, and having it scheduled just before the tourist season spared us from the crowds.
3
Visa Process
Documents for visa need to be given atleast 2 months prior to ensure there is enough time for the Visa process, time to re apply if rejected and would have given time ample time to seek alternative Visas.
2
Visa Preparation
I’ve learned that this should be done way earlier to avoid stress and visa rejection.
Improved Team Communication
I learned a lot about my colleagues culturally and personally, which improved my communication with them. I feel like understanding each person better has enhanced my overall team interactions from now on.
2
Vissa Applications
It would be preferable if we had at least three months to prepare/apply for the visa. Not all converters can travel Visa-free:).
2
Visa Workarounds
I accidentally learned how to make visa workarounds if getting certain country visa is not easy via straight forward route. Hence while executing these work arounds and interactions with immigration officers at airport gave me hands on experience for similar future trips I will going to.
1
Art of engaging interactions
I always wanted to make my interations more engaging and interesting for other, I found similar skills in some of the convertors, which I learnt in hindsight while interacting with them and took some concepts of their execution, which I will be leveraging in future.
3
Visas
It did not apply to me but also had recent visa trouble and realized that it is important to get visas organized as early as possible. It appears that even destinations that should be relatively easy are not quite the case anymore.
5 quotes from 5 Converters
Based on personal experience and believes, I saw a different perspectives on subjects, which got me thinking. That’s learning!
1
Accommodation (EXAMPLE)
Being able to tun the AC to cool in some rooms and to heat in others
Downtime (EXAMPLE)
More downtime to relax would have been great
2
Foodwise, felt a need for meat
Sadly, there was a huge confusion that no-pork means halal, so some of us could not enjoy meat. It was not catastrophic as the vegetarian food and the fish were ok, but I did feel the lack of meat. In a country with 18% of the population eat halal, it seemed to me that for the money we paid the hotel, they needed to make an effort to properly respond to that need.
1
Cleanliness!
I think everybody will agree on this one and my personal experience is as simple as my sheets were not changed for whole stay of ten days even after requesting it! We had the bin overflowing and even smelling in the villa… The bathrooms were dirty and not even cleaned once! I was using towels to dry the floor etc! Hot water was a joke, so no relaxing shower as you never know when you’ll get the freezing cold water! I’d ask for a partial refund if it was me.
4
The Hotel
I mean, the service and the attitude of the people working at the hotel were really good. But there were several aspects that shouldn't happen in a hotel that has been awarded 5 stars. The rooms weren't cleaned properly, the hot water was a little tricky to use, the rooms are not soundproofed at all, you can hear every time a door is opened or closed. There was only one key per village, which is not good because it doesn't allow families to go their own way in the city. In the end, we decided to just leave the village unlocked and trust in the security of the area.
5
Amenities
We often had to request items that should have been standard e.g. complimentary water
1
Consistent communication
Communication was occasionally hampered by last-minute changes. Not all participants were added to the Whatsapp groups from the get-go which led to missed updates. There were some inconsistencies in the communicated departure times for shared airport transfers.
3
Photos and interaction with team members that did not attend
The ones who left behind were waiting via slack to see more photos and interaction but there was just silence from Montenegro side.
6
Halal meat
I missed eating halal meat, but the team managed to bring some for the BBQ party, which was very special to me.
3
Destination Needed 3 Flight Changes
I couldn’t make it to the retreat, in part because of the location. Montenegro called for 3 flight changes from Kolkata... and that’s a bit too much for me. I would in general prefer locations close to Asia ... or if longer flights are needed, then direct flights (which I can pay the extra for out of pocket).
3
Child safety
Hotel design makes you walk next to very busy street. The hotel design forces people in blocks 3 and 4 to always pass down the road. The drivers in Montenegro are not so conscious about their driving speeds. So felt obligated to always join my kids from and to the room even though their are old enough to have gone by themselves if the design of the hotel focused on entrances to the inner spaces. Everything forced you to go outside and on the public spaces. That limited the freedom I had as parent
5
Mandatory Converter Exclusive Arranged Tours
I know we are promoting freedom to choose but it would be nice to have 2-3 more Converter Exclusive Arranged Tours so we can bond more together. There is set tours like Durmitor National Park Tour, Budva or Herceg Novi that we can go or we can have the Kotor Cable Car as Tours for Converters with Games just like the Old town city tour.
6
Learning Sessions
Would have been nice to have some workshops/sessions on how to improve some Convert structural issues
6
Visa Processing Time
For each nation, I believe it would be preferable if we could give all of the essential documentation the first time we submit a visa application. In this regard, we still have time to revise or resubmit additional details if necessary, and we will have sufficient time.
2
Visa Knowledge Base
3
Clean Accomodation when arriving
Our villa was not clean when we arrived from a very tiring trip. We had to wait for them to clean it. We were lucky there was a cuban maid that helped us.
Amability of Reception Staff
Found the hard way that receptcionist was not amable when we asked anything.
2
A/C in Kids area
From what I heard there was no A/C in the kids area or it was not functioning.
2
Accommodation & Service
In general the staff was at the hotel was reasonably friendly but for the type of luxury hotel they were not eager to work or give the extra. A few examples: On several occasions we phoned regarding the A/C. They told they could see that the temperature was decreasing and that the A/C was working. The temp was lower by 0.1 degree and that they could do nothing else. The cleaning lady on the day that we requested to clean the room did not clean anything. We went to the restaurant to order a lunch. Even though there were 4 people there they told us we needed to order from the beach. We went to the beach, the waiter there told us that need to go up to the restaurant to order but he did take our order. We waited for our order for 45 minutes and walked up to the restaurant to be told that it was now almost ready. Still took another 5 to 10 minutes. (and what arrived was not great). In general found that the staff was more eager to respond than to accept and provide a good service.
2
More activities with Converters
I missed the last few team activities...
2
FOOD (EXAMPLE)
More protein options for vegans/vegetarians
7
Cleanliness of the villas and rooms
The hotel was just terrible on that front, we talked to the reception many times but they never did even one proper cleaning, and did not even change the sheets.
8
Hot water in the villas
The hot water used to drop to almost none after literally two-minutes, my guess was that the system was optimized for summer temperatures of the cold water. On day one, I shared this with the reception, they said they would send a technician but never did. So we learned to manage without that comfort. Definitely not a 5 star experience on that front. The hotel’s fault of course.
5
Coffee, hot food and good service!
I was having 4 espressos in the morning at once without any success in waking up 😂 most of the time the food was cold but that should’ve been if only it was good 🤦🏻‍♀️ the service was not great except one waitress who was very professional and always happy to assist you…
3
Group activity session
It would be great to create group activities to break the ice and focus to learn something about ourselves our families and our cultures. I mean, we did it during the activities that were self-organized, such as the Indian Breakfast, the Dinner in Village 10, and so on.
4
Quiet room / balcony / curtains
Unfortunately, the AC was broken in my original room. As the hotel was full, they said the only alternative was a much smaller room that overlooked the busy main road. As a light sleeper I struggled with the noise and the curtains weren’t quite wide enough to cover both windows so it was very light. I asked to return to my old room when the AC was fixed but that didn’t seem to happen. I didn’t have a balcony in either room unfortunately, so no opportunity to sit and look at the views from my room. In hindsight, I should have asked the Onsite Hub team to help but they had so much going on I didn’t want to burden them.
1
To stay the whole time
I had to leave for an emergency after 4 days. I would have loved to do the group activities etc. Next time!
4
Room services
Expected the rooms to be cleaned daily and also there were no much provision for hot water for bathing, etc.
4
Food options and preferences
Pre-gathered food preferences did not reflect in the meals provided.
4
Buffet Food Options in the Hotel
The buffet food options are very limited that on day 10, my guess of what’s on the menu was spot on!
2
Kid Free Areas
Would be nice to enjoy parts of the hotel without kids
1
Converters
I'd love to meet all of the converters in person and bond with them. Hope to meet everyone soon or at the next retreat :))
2
Fun Games
I wish there should have some more games which we all could have played together, I really liked the game tour guide engaged us to play during guided tour to old city. I believe it brought so much bonding, fun and spark among convertors who attended that tour. I really loved that part!
3
More Sessions by Converters
I loved Morgan’s session - and have actioned upon, but I would have enjoyed more sessions and group tasks ...for bonding...I don’t miss university haha. (I know Karim’s was great, but left before it...)
