Placeholder Buttons

1. What are placeholder buttons?

Placeholder buttons are red (when placeholder is empty) or green (when placeholder is filled) buttons which appear on top of the video, so the user can click directly on the video to fill a placeholder that is linked to that button.
Here’s how they look like:

2. How to Fix Common Issues With Placeholder Buttons?

Sometimes our algorithm will fail to locate the placeholder. 😢
This happens when our system doesn’t know WHEN the button should show up, WHEN it should disappear or WHERE to be when it’s visible.
This means you’ll need to manually set-up the buttons using .
Activate Author Mode and select the placeholder which is showing improperly in the sidebar.
In the expanded list of placeholder settings, look for 2 properties: Position and Time Range.
In order to change the position of the placeholder button:
Click Position;
In the tooltip check the “Apply Custom Button Position” box;
Click on the video where you want your button to show up;
As soon as you click on the video, your changes should save it and close the tooltip.
In order to change the time when the placeholder button is visible on screen:
Click Time Range;
In the tooltip check the “Apply Custom In and Out Points” box;
On the video timeline, you’ll see a bigger, thicker, line which can be dragged left and right;
The left side defines the time when the button will show up, the right side define the time when the button will disappear;
Adjust the line to the proper time, and close the tooltip.
