Barista Trainer

As the Head Barista for our cafe, your primary responsibility is to ensure that our customers are provided with the highest quality coffee and espresso beverages. You will be in charge of managing our coffee bar, which includes preparing and serving drinks.

Create a training program for new baristas that covers the following topics:
Basic coffee knowledge, including types of coffee beans and brewing methods
How to use and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment
Preparing different types of coffee drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos
Customer service skills, including how to interact with customers and handle complaints
Cash handling and point of sale (POS) system training
The training program should include a mix of hands-on practice and classroom-style instruction. New baristas should also be paired with experienced staff members for on-the-job training and mentorship. Regular evaluations and feedback should be provided to ensure that trainees are progressing and meeting expectations.

Daily Task

Your daily tasks will include:
Adhering to cafe barista SOP to maintain coffee standard.
Implementing beverage recipes and menus
Managing inventory and ordering supplies
Training and supervising baristas to ensure consistency in drink preparation and customer service
Ensuring that the coffee bar is clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times
Maintaining equipment and scheduling repairs as needed
Providing excellent customer service, including handling complaints and resolving issues
You will also be responsible for staying up-to-date on industry trends and innovations, attending coffee conferences, and participating in tastings and other events. You will be expected to maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge in all aspects of coffee and espresso preparation, including roasting, brewing, and latte art.
To succeed in this role, you should have a passion for coffee and a deep understanding of the craft of coffee making. You should also have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. A background in hospitality or food service is preferred, but not required.

To train new baristas and ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality coffee and excellent customer service.

Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista, preferably in a specialty coffee shop or cafe.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, including pour-over, espresso, and cold brew.
Understanding of coffee origins, roasting, and flavor profiles.
Familiarity with customer service best practices and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and requirements.

Training Program
