Drum Roasting Instructions

1 | Start to heat up your roaster. Set the Heat to about 80% and Airflow to about 40%
2 | Fill your drums with green coffee beans. | Amount of beans can be set around 65% ~ 75% of the drum size.
3 | When the temperature reaches around 190° ~ 210°, charge in the beans and note the temperature. or click the START button.
4 | Monitor the temperature and observe the timing.
5 | When the temperature changes from dropping to rising, note the temperature and click the Yellow button.
6 | Monitor the temperature and listen for 1st crack around 180°.
7 | When you hear 4 consecutive “popping” or cracking sound, note the temperature and click the 1st Crack button.
8 | Immediately lower the Heat control to about 20% and Airflow to about 80%.
9 | Monitor the temperature and get ready to release the beans into the cooling tray. At that point, click Roast End
10 | The time between 1st Crack and Final release will affect the final taste, aroma and roast aroma.
