STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
Deputies Duties and Responsibilities
As an employee in the Sheriff’s Office,. you are expected to:
Enforce the law within your assigned jurisdiction.
Arrest, jail and/or fine members of the public who break laws.
Inform, assist, and guide the citizens.
Assist the Department in maintaining up to date criminal records.
Providing escorts and protection to citizens upon request from your command.
Assist with teaching each other the rules of the department and consisteTurn on screen reader support ntly review the laws, training documents, and job duties.
Deputy Restrictions and Guidelines:
As a Deputy you are expected to always be professional on and off duty.
As an employee of the sheriffs office you cannot be a member of a gang or posse. Deputies are allowed to have one dog present when not actively patrolling.
Deputies are restricted to a number of 6 personnel in a Posse.
Max sizes of scenes are 6 Officers/Deputies, meaning, if four ESO Deputies show up to a Western County Area scene with three Officers, one of the
ESO Deputies will need to break off.
If you are responding to scenes outside of our jurisdiction, allow the governing office to take primary on scene.
