Unpack

Each week we'll designate a time for kids to review what they learned in the Bible story in a fun way.

When does this happen during service?

The first thing we will do with kids after Large Group is Unpack. This is a time to circle back to what kids learned in the Story Video while it’s still fresh on their mind.
Countdown: Reel in the kids with a fun video. (5 min.)
Connect: Get to know your group. (5 min.)
Large Group: Share God’s story. (25 min.)
Unpack: Review the Bible story. (5 min.)
Remember: Memorize the Bible verse. (5 min.)
Respond: Worship in your own way. (5 min.)
Explore: Putting it into practice. (5 min.)
Debrief: Talk about your takeaway. (5 min.)

*During this segment, you’ll see a slide on your screen with a progress bar at the bottom. This is a visual timer to let you know how much time you have in small groups before we start Response Time. The timer is 10 minutes long, which is enough time for you to lead kids in the Unpack and Remember activities. Once the time is up, the playlist will automatically start Response Time.

What’s the win for this time?

We want kids to understand what they just heard in the Bible story video. That’s why the win for this time is to help kids connect the dots.

Game

Kids are going to play a short game to review the Bible lesson they just learned.
Encourage kids to participate but it is not the end of the world if they don’t.
While it is fun to just play a game, make sure throughout you are making connections to the story.
At the end of the game, each week will have a short sentence or two explanation for how the game was relevant to the story for the week.
