In this step we rinse the paper taste out of the filter, while also pre-heating the cup. Pre-heating the cup keeps the coffee warmer as it brews.
Place a paper filter in the cone
Place cone and filter on your cup
Pour hot water over the filter wetting entire filter
Discard the water from your cup

Bloom the beans

The objective is to get all of the grounds wet before starting the brew. This results in coffee that tastes less bitter, more better.
Pour the ground coffee beans into the filter
Make a dimple in the center of the coffee grounds
