Being a FinOps Manager

info

A FinOps Manager is someone who...

Manages the function, the FinOps team and their outputs to ensure they are meeting expectations, and proactively raises and makes changes where they are not.
Proactively identifies improvements and efficiencies for finance functions, and works with their partners to prioritise them.
And then designs and runs bespoke financial processes that match what their individual partners’ need.
Communicates and documents those processes in a way that makes it easy for others in the team to succeed.

Over-communicates with partners and the team on what they’re working on (and what they’re not!)
Doesn’t wait around to be told what to do - get’s immediately stuck in
Never sticks with the ‘way things have always been done’
