Entry Point

We will have different entry points for 2 different segments of suppliers depending on their previous understanding of edit product tool
Suppliers who have already visited edit product page - An announcement coach mark to inform suppliers that edit price feature is now available inside the edit product page.
a. The rest of the page will remain interact-able when the coach mark is being shown. b. The coach mark will be shown till the supplier visits the page or the first 3 times he visits the inventory tab
Supplier who have haven’t visited edit product page yet - The existing entry design for edit catalog will be used.

Edit Product Page

Since we want the tool to be VSKU ready i.e The tool will remain usable when variation level pricing is enabled. We will show/ let the supplier edit the prices (both Meesho & WDRP prices) at variation level.
Within the Variation level price edit

1. For the products which has same prices for different variants (Homogenous Product)

a. By default the price edited on one of the variant will be copied to the other products
Reason: 85% of time, we expect suppliers to edit the prices at product level & not at variant level. For these cases, we don’t want the supplier to edit the individual variant to the same price, Hence we want to copy the price to all variants. b. Checkbox to edit price individually
The Supplier will have an option (checkbox) to edit the Homogenous product at variant level, Once supplier clicks on this checkbox - a modal will appear to reconfirm that the supplier wants to edit price at variant level. Reason for Re-Confirmation: From UT, we observed that the suppliers had the tendency to click on the checkbox to see if that lets them increase prices. Hence we have added the modal to reconfirm the supplier’s intent. b. Once supplier confirms the he wants to edit the prices at variant level then the prices of the variant can be individually editable

2. For the products which has different prices for different variants (Heterogenous Product)

a. The supplier will be directly able to edit the variant prices individually

3. For both Homogenous and Heterogenous products, after editing the price, suppliers can submit the changes post which a confirmation message will be shown and prices should reflect in the system

4. The product’s prices will be non-editable during & after 7 days of the sale period

Reason: We need to keep the perception that prices are the lowest during the Meesho sale dates than other BAU dates. Hence we will disable price decrease during & after 7 days after the sale period

5. Supplier will by default see the top infowar with the msg ‘To increase price and modify variation details, please raise a ticket in support’ This is done to not set any false expectation from our end of a full price control capacity.

6. Supplier will be shown an error

When supplier tries to increase the variant’s Meesho price
When supplier tries to decrease the price less than the minimum price Reason: We need to keep a minimum price to ensure that transfer price does not become negative.
When the supplier tries to keep the WDRP price greater than the Meesho price
When the supplier tries to increase the WDRP price

Price Calculator

While editing the price of the product/variant, the supplier will have an option (button below the Meesho prices) to look at the breakup of the price into different components (commission, GST, TCS/TDS, Transfer price)
Reason: The price that the supplier inputs is different from his bank settlement amount and supplier finds it difficult to understand this. So, in order to create visibility & explain suppliers who wants to clarify this breakup, we have added this price calculator modal.
