It has an area of 664 hectares, which are distributed mainly along the coastal area and go from the lighthouse of the town of Tulum to the area known as Casa Cenote. It constitutes the only terrestrial Protected Natural Area (Anp) in the Cancun-tulum corridor (Riviera Maya) and is located around the archaeological zone renowned as the “walled” demarcation of Tulum. One of its main attractions is the wide variety of environments it has, such as the mangroves, which are home to various species of gallantry and fauna characteristic of the area, the banks and the cenotes. It also serves as a home and sanctuary for many species threatened by extinction, such as the sea, white and loggerhead turtles that nest on the Park's beaches and are protected by the Federal Government.
