🎵 1. Import the Audio
Go to File > Open... and select your recorded DJ set. The file will open in the Waveform Editor for editing. ❗ 2. Check and Repair Clipping
Clipping = distortion from too-loud recording.
Do this:
Go to Effects > Diagnostics > Declipper. Click Scan, then Repair All. Repeat until no more clipped samples are found. 🔍 Tip: Zoom in on waveforms with flat tops to visually identify clipped areas.
🔈 3. Trim the Start/End
Cut any silence, mic noise, or setup chatter at the beginning and end.
Do this:
Use the Time Selection Tool to highlight unwanted sections. Press Delete or Edit > Delete. 🎚️ 4. Normalize the Volume
Ensures overall loudness is at a safe, consistent level.
Do this:
Favorites > Normalize to -1 dB Or go to Effects > Amplitude and Compression > Normalize: Target Peak Amplitude: -1 dB 📝 Optional:
Manually adjust overly loud or quiet segments with the Amplify tool or in Multitrack View using volume envelopes. 🎧 5. Listen Through & Smooth Out
Scrub through the mix and check for:
Awkward transitions or cuts Harsh EQ sections or overly loud bass Optional tools:
Graphic Equalizer (Effects > Filter and EQ) Compressor (Effects > Amplitude and Compression) Use lightly unless you’re confident!
🧹 6. Clean Up the Audio (Optional)
Only if needed:
Noise Reduction (for hiss/hum) Click/Pop Eliminator (if digital noise is present) 📌 Use sparingly — overprocessing can degrade quality.
🗂️ 7. Add a jingle (Optional)
You can add a jingle in a Multitrack Editor
For Guest Mixes and Guest shows use For personal shows ask the showmaker to create a jingle or make one by yourself
💾 8. Export the Final File
If using Waveform View:
If using Multitrack View:
File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown > Entire Session Set same MP3 format and bitrate. ✅ Summary of Main Steps:
